Cheers to a great week

It’s Friday again.  I blink and my week has gone.

So I thought I would take a few minutes and be grateful.

I’m grateful the election is over.

I’m grateful that the common ‘talking point’ on Wednesday from Clinton and Obama was a “Peaceful transition of Power”.  I don’t think I could take more of the contention, lies, and outright BS of the political process.

I’m grateful that after all the miles driven in the last 10 days, I could indulge in a massage. I hadn’t seen my massage therapist in a year.  We hugged and laughed and caught up.  She’s such a lovely person.

I’m grateful that I got an opportunity to actually cook dinner for my family last night, and we could sit down and chat.

I’m so grateful for our Veterans.  Thank you all for your service, and the sacrifice that your families make to keep our nation safe.

Thank you Hillsdale College for putting this together.  Thanks for all your great free classes on the US Constitution too!  I bet your students don’t need therapy dogs, grief counselors, or play dough this week to help them get through the election results.

Welcome 2016!

Farewell 2015.

In 2015 I joined the Word of the Year Movement.  My word for 2015 was Grace.

2015 was a re-evaluation of priorities, a streamlining of lifestyle.

2015 was a year to dig into cultivating Gratitude as I was buffeted by cleaning out my mother’s house, losing my job, and dealing with the grief from the losses in 2014

2015 was a year I tried my hand at Haiku, photo challenges, Allergic to the Letter E challenges, F word Challenges (my favorite post to write, by the way) and several very kind awards.

2015 was a year when I experimented in different health supplements, only to find that they didn’t really help me much.  Thanks anyway Bee Pollen and Coconut oil.

2015 I met new blogging friends who I cherish in this blogosphere.

The Presents of Presence

2015 was the year we started Bee Keeping.  I love my bees.  They are very comforting.

2015 was a year of re-establishing my confidence, and restoring the Kick Ass attitude I lost.0811[1]

I’m getting back to the Sass, but it’s in a Bee Keepers Veil, and Muck Boots.  Generally I’m a sweaty mess, and happy for it.

2015 was the year I discovered I love Zumba, and met 3 fabulous Gal Pals by getting out and participating in a Free Community Class.  Who knew if you go out in public, you might meet someone fun?

2015 was the year I learned how to drive a tractor and shred, make bee pollen substitute, split a hive, and locate a very elusive Queen bee!

2015 was the year I learned to breathe freely with less.

2015, I’m very grateful for you.  The ups, the downs, the highs, the lows….2015 you were a year of Great Grace.

2016, I have to say, I’m very happy you are here.  I’m looking forward to a great adventure!

Like my Friend Marla at Just Make the Coffee said in her first post this year.  I’m going to Enjoy 2016, want to join me?

What a honor

One Lovely Blog

One of my favorite bloggers, and fabulous poet Tosha Michelle from payed me the greatest compliment and nominated me for this award. Thank you!  Thank you!

Here are the rules:

The rules for accepting the 2015 One Lovely Blog Award:

– Thank and link back to the person who nominated you. Check!
– Share 7 things about yourself. Check!
– Nominate 15 other bloggers and comment on their blogs to let them know. almost check!

Hmmm, 7 things about me, this could be daunting.

  1.  I’m a dog lover.  I have two pooches, Rascal a 7 year old Mini Aussie Shepherd who lives up to his name and still thinks he’s a puppy.  Dolly a 4 year old Blue Heeler who thinks she’s an old woman.  She groans every time she moves, and gets very cranky with Rascal for acting like a puppy so much.  They are hilarious.
  2. I still blush.  I’m 51 years old, and I will blush if something racy comes up.  My friends are always shocked if I say something racy, because it’s rare when I do, and I blush like crazy!  I’m blushing now, admitting that I occasionally say something racy and blush doing it.
  3. I’ve been blogging for almost 3 years with the initial intention of finding something to be grateful for everyday.  Gratitude is the secret ingredient for satisfaction in life, and sadly, so many miss the boat on gratitude.  It makes me double my efforts to express my gratitude as often as possible.
  4. Language, is my passion.  Words, poetry, philosophy, expression……Language, sung, written or verbal is the human super-power.  It moves mountains, changes moods, changes nations, changes nature.  I love words fabulously and authentically expressed.
  5. I’ve been married to my husband for 22 years.  I’m not sure how we’ve made it this long, but we seem to do well with each other.  We have two sons ages 27 and 21.  I don’t know how I got so OLD to have these grown children, inside I still feel like I’m 27, and the world is still out in front of me.
  6. Ramblings and Musings is my blog, and that’s what I do.  I ramble a bit, I muse a bit, and write about what’s on my heart and mind.  Blogging has introduced me to some fabulous friends from all across the world.  Their support is amazing, and I’m grateful every day for the wonderful people I get to read and interact with.
  7. My other passion is riding my motorcycle.  I started a bit late in life learning to ride.  My hands have lost some strength recently, which will require a little surgery to correct the neuropathy that is hindering my throttle hand, I look forward to getting back on the road.
