It’s Honey Time again

I went back through some of my old photos.  We’ve evolved for sure over the last 4 years of bee keeping.

It’s time to go get the honey.  I hope we have a good harvest.

It’s amazing how honey can be so different, from the light and sweet to the dark and smokey.

Bees are pretty cool.

SANTA at the Farmer’s Market

When I spotted SANTA Jim’s sleigh in the parking lot, I had to go look for him.

But, like Christmas when I was a kid, when I tried to sneak a peak at him….poof he was gone.

I’m grateful for time to wander at the Farmer’s Market in Tomball, time to clean my house, and fresh tomatoes to snack on.

The sun came up

Today is another day. The sun came up. My Dolly has her tail in high gear waiting to greet me.

Let’s see what kind of good things I can find today.

As difficult as life can be, I’m determined to look for some good today.

Maybe I’ll head out to the farmers market, and make something yummy?

A sort of personal shift

I don’t understand, I realize I’m not being heard.

Speaking up has made me the person no one wants to hear.

The people I’m talking to are grown ups, and I have to let go. I’m not in charge.

5 years ago, I went through cancer, death, and disappointment. It seems like I’m facing the same challenges again.

How to let go…it’s so hard.

People can make their own choices, I still love them. They get to choose.

So What Do You Recommend?

Image from Pinterest. Not actual customer.

Sometimes my baby boy is one of the funniest people on the planet.

He’s worked for a tire company for the last 8 years, and sometimes our neighbors will go in and ply him for a discount, favor, deal, or even recommendations.

Our next door neighbor took his car in. (This neighbor has been really harsh to my husband and I for our political beliefs.) He asked for Zach to work on his vehicle, and after the the tires were inspected, it was revealed that 3 of the rims on his vehicle were bent, severely damaged.

The neighbor leans into Zach and says “Well, what do you recommend?”

Zach “be a better driver?” 👀😁😂

JackAss neighbor needs 3 new rims, and new tires and can’t say jack to Zach.

I love that boy.

Tuesday Gratitude

Well, here it is Tuesday again.

I’ve made it through Monday.

I’m thankful today for my family. We got together with our nephew to pray over him before he heads off to MD Anderson today to a full assessment on the cancer diagnosis.

I’m very grateful for the best doctors in the world that will work on irradicating the foriegn invader in Colin’s body.

I’m so grateful for my husband, who is so loving and kind, and so strong, reaching out to support his sister, brother-in-law, and nephew with an unconditional offer to help in any way, any time, any where.

It’s always a privaledge to pray for someone, it’s like the last 20 years of practice that has led me to this moment. I’m so grateful that I’ve gotten to practice for this moment.

A Beloved Texas Staple Sold

Whataburger, a Texas based, family owned, best burger in town…..sold.

Nolan Ryan, Baseball Hall of Fame pitcher, Houston Astros and Texas Rangers, plus the spokesperson for Whataburger for decades.

Texans are outraged and a little disgusted. Just like you can’t get good salsa from New York City, you can’t let a Chicago based firm make a Whataburger, it won’t be the same.

A Texas treasure sold to a freaking Chicago investment firm.

Oye. I’m just completely bummed out.

Quotes about dogs

I found this today in Rob Chrisman’s blog.

It made me smile, and made me miss my Rascal.

I’m grateful to have had dogs in my life.

Here, 14 dog quotes that capture the special bond between a human and their pup.

Well….cuss words

My heart has a cold fist around it.

I’m beside myself with frozen emotion.

Our nephew, precious young man, engaged to be married, his wedding to his lovely Heather is in December…he has been diagnosed with a soft tissue sarcoma. I met him when he was 4 years old, the cutest little boy. I fell in love with him immediately. He’s been part of my family’s holidays ever since. I’ve not had a Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, 4th of July, Birthdays, Baseball game…Game of Thrones episode without him.

The mass is in his chest wall, wrapped against a rib and pressed against his liver, about the size of a small dinner plate. He’s 32, and in for a fight.

He and Heather are currently in a strategy session with MD Anderson to investigate this mass further, and determine how to fight. It wont’ be without surgery, radiation et al.

If I could get ahold of that devil, and stomp on his head with my 7 1/2 foot, I’d put a hurt on him like he’s never known. Big Cuss Words!

Colin has an Aunt Wendy who’s praying for him. We are coming together as a family to support our precious young man. Please pray for him, he’s like one of my own boys.
