Gratitude Wednesday

Last night was one of those restless nights. Awake at 12:30am, 3:01am, 4:29 am. I finally decided to just get up at 5:30, tired of fighting for sleep.

The funny thing is, I don’t feel overly tired….yet.

In light of no sleep, I’m grateful for good coffee, my pup Dolly, and a break in the rain.

My car is really clean for the first time since January, and I’m ready to make my client calls with my boss today.

The rest of the week, I’m going to let go of things that I can’t control and rest in knowing that nothing meant for me will pass me by.

Happy Wednesday.

  1. My nights have been like that occasionally for years now. Either I fall asleep easily and wake up a lot or I can’t seem to fall asleep. I avoid caffeine in the afternoon but sometimes nothing helps. It is incredibly aggravating, isn’t it? And yeah I bet you’ll be tired this afternoon. Hope tonight is a good sleep night!

  2. I’ve been waking up every night for the past week. My dog is on some pills that make him want to go out. It’s a gruesome sight taking my dog out in the front yard with my bathrobe on. Love your new gravatar! ❤

  3. Well, I never thought I’d be grateful for something as simple as sleeping through the night, except for those couple of years when “the devil child” didn’t! Just before I finally quit the job that was consistently giving me nightmares (and sometimes still does, six years later) I started falling asleep with the TV on. Back then I could even stand to watch cable news, since it was as dire and horrifying as it is now! That being the case, I have switched to watching reruns of sitcoms that I didn’t watch when they originally aired, like “Friends” and “Mom.” The idea was to keep my mind off the track of continuously thinking about stressful stuff. I guess I have “The Donald” to thank for discovering some oldies but goodies to redirect my thoughts when falling asleep to my current lighter fare, though I hope to be able to return someday to more hopeful cable news programming!
