Wookies, Pyramids, Pumpkins, Hostage situations, shootings and more.

Oh boy, I am pooped!

For all my working out, I’ve lost my convention stamina.  The 24/7 of being on, up, engaging, entertained, entertaining.  I am a lump of jello after 3 days.

It started at the registration desk when the Wookie walked by.  Yes, I’m talking about Chewbacca himself.  Right there, not 5 feet from me.

He was in a bit of a hurry and pulling his suitcase.  No one seemed too worried about it.  A Wookie needs his provisions, right?

The Luxor is old, but with the IHeart Radio concert across the street.  The whole Pyramid Thumped with the bass.

I’ve never been in an elevator that moved sideways before….it was Very Harry Potter.  The Elevator in the Pyramid moves at a sideways angle on the interior wall.  Trippy man.  I’m just saying.

I did get to catch up with Chewy later.  Leia and Chewy were posing for pics at the REMN booth.

I’m the worst selfie taker ever.  But fortunately I was whisked off to Caesar’s Palace too see more incredible sights.

Like Pegasus, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Spago.

Sunday brunch with my friend and client in Caesars, at Spagos, with the painted night sky at 11 am.

Off for more convention fun, I reunited with my friend Cindy who is a famous, fabulous selfie taker, who taught me a few tricks.

Well if that isn’t enough, why not the Bellagio Botanical Gardens?

These photos were all taken by me, with my phone.
After all the sensory overload, Star Wars, and Pyramids.  I don’t have much more to report besides the hostage situation, the shooting, and the evacuations down the street from the convention.  No one seemed too phased by it.

I asked myself a hundred times while I was there, “am I really here?”

Yes, I was.  I was there among the flowers, Pyramids, chaos, food, lights, music, and extravagance that is Las Vegas.  Everything here is “Over the Top.”

Now, I am tired, but happy.

I’ve got a few things on my mind

First!  I’m so grateful that our lovely blogging buddy Diane from Ladies who lunch came through her surgery well, and is resting and recovering.

Cheers to you and your boobs!  Just in time for Save the TA-Tas month.

Second.

I finished up my full second week of work still smiling.  I’m a happy girl, actively employed, enjoying getting back to my industry and friends.  I lost some of my desk “stamina”, but I’m sure with time and practice, I can get back in condition.

I’ve forgotten how to pack….so I’m scrambling to get ready to fly to Vegas for a convention.  I may have overpacked.  Fortunate for me, there is great shopping where I’m headed!  That way I can bring a second suitcase home?  I might need to rethink this.

I’m not a gambler by any stretch of the imagination, so I hope I get to Coddywomple around the strip and people watch.

Our group is at the Luxor.  Between the Pyramid, the Eiffel Tower, and the dancing water at the Bellagio, I will have a lot to see.

Cheers all!  Have a great weekend.

Whew!

That is a funny looking word, Whew.  The more I look at it the funnier it gets.

But as a descriptive, it is a perfect word for this week.  Whew. (emphasis on the airy Wh)

I’m so grateful for my new job.

Gratitude has been bubbling up in me every morning, bouncing me out of bed at 5:15, bouncing me around the house, singing in traffic, and being “all in” for the meetings I’ve been a part of this week.

Will the new wear off?  Probably.

But for now, I’ve got the New Job, Bubbling Up, Happy Feet, gratitude going on.

And, I’m up at 2am on a Saturday morning, looking at the big moon, and feeling pretty good.

Not the greatest capture of the moon outside, but there it is!

I won’t forget

I found this image on Facebook, I searched for the originator.  It is a great graphic.

A defining moment in American history.  A nation that today is so divided.

Could we set aside the division for a moment and remember when we all came together and why?

God Bless America, my home sweet home.

Why is this so funny?

After a long day in the heat, and dodging the rain, I saw this and it stuck me so funny.

Attempted Murder is less than 3 crows.   I’m crying for laughing over this.

I’m so grateful for humor breaks after a day in the heat.  And the trivial persuit card, many years ago, that told me what “more than 3” crows are called.

I need a shower, and some carbs…for heaven sakes, can I get a cracker?

My Blue Crayon Award, yep I’m starting an AWARD!

This might be impromptu, and after my Friday evening glass of wine….So buckle up Butter Cups, here it comes.

When I saw this image,  I thought of you, my blogger buddies who I enjoy so much.

No questions, no nominations numbers required, just a sincere “nod” to the bloggers who paint your sky.  Oh, and none of that lazy crap of “everyone is nominated who wants to be”.

Take some time, if there is someone out there that has impacted you in the last important period of time you have been blogging….well at least think about giving them a nice shout out, and a  ping back.

Otherwise, happy reading, and move on.  This is your story after all, do with it what you like.

So cheers to you, my blue sky bloggers.

To keep this post short, I chose a few of my favorites.  Any reposting or re-nominating is optional, and at your discretion.

There is no obligation to forward, there is nothing here other than just gratitude, and thanks for your support, and your lovely blogs that fill me with joy, and appreciation.

This is in by no means, a definitive list, or even a top whatever of anything.  This is just a smidgeon of who has inspired, commented, corrected, gave input, provided wonderful moments of enjoyment through sharing their photography, commentary, poetry, songs, muse, self, etc.

http://Ladieswholunchreviews.wordpress.com  Diane, you are so brave, so creative, so vital, so alive, so, so, so outstanding.  Not only do I enjoy reading your blog, I love reading your comments in other blogs.  You are an amazing woman, and I’m so grateful to have found you in this blogosphere.

http://ididnthavemyglasseson.com  Beth, I think I found your blog first when I started over 3 years ago.  Not only is your blog so enjoyable for content, photos, quotes, family life, and adventures, it is so genuine, and I look forward to seeing it every day.  I don’t think I could ever not read what you have going on.

http://outanabout.com  Miriam, you have such a wonderful talent and eye in your photography, it is only eclipsed by your lovely writing and how you showcase the love of your family, your country, and what catches your attention.  You are so real, genuine, lovely, and wonderful.  Thank you for sharing your gift with us.

http://educationadvocateblog.wordpress.com  Oh Ms. Lori Higgins.  You are a treasure, a jewel, a common sense, practical, sparkling, diamond of a blogger, friend, commentator, sharer of wisdom.  You rock, and I hope that if we are ever in the same country, we can meet in person.  I pray for you daily, as you are always in my heart.

My friend Rob.  http://forfriendswithoutborders.wordpress.com  When Stacils first made mention of you over a year ago, I was so drawn to your blog.  Friends without borders is my place.  My home away from home.  I don’t know anyone you haven’t brought in, lifted up, shared your music, your friendship, your encouragement.  You are the Ambassador of my wordpress experience, and I thank you.  Thank you for introducing me to so many great bloggers, and making us all part of your wordpress family.  My sincerest gratitude goes to you.

If you are reading this, and if anyone comes to your mind at all, WordPress or not.  Give them a shout out.  Let the people who make a difference in your life know how much you care about them.

God Bless, and Go Hug up your loved ones.

Whew, I got overwhelmed

Have you ever got caught up and realized….oh gee this is way too much.

Negativity, sex, doom, gloom, sadness in 7-10 blog posts per day…..oh my.  I feel the need to form an intervention party, then I realize, I’m just a reader, and I do have some say so over what I subscribe to receive.

I still hate the all or nothing aspect.  I’d like to follow, and check in when I have the emotional reserves to read everything. These poor souls are pouring out so much.  I wish them well.

I’ve commented, encouraged, questioned, made recommendations, offered resources to these lovely people who seem to be genuinely suffering, but it doesn’t seem to make any difference. They appear to like their suffering, it’s what they identify with.  This one dear lady, the more I encourage her, the more she posts on her distress, depression, anxiety, and fear.  I’ve stopped commenting, and she wants to know why I don’t comment any more?

Have you ever subscribed, cared, then been overwhelmed?

It’s quite disheartening.

There are so many authentic and interactive bloggers out there.  Thank you all for being real.

Happy Thursday Evening my friends.  May your WordPress reader be filled with everything you enjoy, and bloggers who don’t “fill you too full”.
Any thoughts, suggestions, comments, or recommendations would be sincerely appreciated.

Dipping my toe back in

The excitement builds as the start date for my new Job gets closer.

The press release went out today….Snort….I got a press release.  In my nerdy-ness, I sent it to everyone.  Cause, I now have a job.  (giggle)

The energy is amazing as the emails flew about today to prepare for next week, the conference in Las Vegas at the end of this month, the conference in Boston in October, the hosted events already scheduled the next few weeks, and my calendar started to magically fill up.

Even with this little flurry of activity, and preview of what is to come I feel such contentment, such calm delight, such joy.

I’m so grateful.  The last year has been a blur.  Not a bad year by any means.  It has been a learning year, a preparing year, and a resting year.

All the interviews, all the declines, every time I got frustrated, I could hear down deep in my heart.  “Not Yet.”

It’s so exciting that “Yet” is here.  It is time.  Not just that, it is “Go” time.

With my toe back in the water, I can tell the water is great.  I’m ready to jump right in.img_1717
