Five Photos, Five Stories Day 4

Thanks Elizabeth from Teandpaper.com who invited me to participate in this 5 day challenge!

The “challenge”. Post a photo each day for 5 consecutive days and attach a story to the photo. It can be fiction or non-fiction. Elizabeth’s photos are outstanding. If you haven’t visited her blog….you should! Teandpaper.com

Buttercup.

I took this photo while walking the dogs.  I love this sweet little flower.  It’s like a dogwood flower, or a pansy, but very low growing.  The ditch where I found this one wasn’t a grand photo opportunity, but this little beauty deserved some attention.

Just goes to show that wild flowers can dress up the ugliest flood channels.

The buttercup.

Friendly as a pansy, but not as flashy.

She still dresses the new meadow with sweet color.

Her buttery yellow center is cupped by the pale pink petals.

The bees and butterflies will visit and flirt with her till the heat drives her away.
