When Pumpkin Parties go Bad!
I don’t know if I was dreaming, or what you would call it last night.
I felt myself floating in the most beautiful still water. The air was warm and very sweet. I could smell flowers, grass, and earth. The sense of relaxation and peace was over the top. I remember breathing in and out slowly. I rolled to dive beneath the water, and enjoyed watching the bubbles from my exhalation slowly float to the surface. Following those lazy bubbles back up, I continued floating looking up at the night sky, blinking at how black and deep the sky looked. The stars appeared in riotous effect. Millions upon millions of brilliant points of light blanketing the heavens and reflecting in the waters. Velvet black of night, the backdrop for the brilliance of each unique star was a sight I will never forget.
I floated, suspended in comfort, admiring the beauty created by the heavens.
When I came back to myself….I fully expected to be drenched from my swim.
I’m grateful to Pinterest for having such a great number of pictures, this one might give you an idea.
It’s been quite a week. Highs and lows have been everywhere, everyday. Take some time this weekend and enjoy what you love, enjoy who you love, and be at peace.
I used to hide what I enjoy from people who would never in a million years even like me!
I’ve been stepping out in radical ways…some not so nice, but……….I’ve come out of the shadows and no longer care. If you don’t like Gilbert and Sullivan, ok. I do……along with Mozart, Bach, Beetles, Eagles, Tears for Fears, The Police, Neil Diamond, Michael Buble, Straight-No-Chaser, Diana Krall, Dierks Bently, Hal Ketchem, and the Doobie Brothers. I have an appreciation for creative artists. This isn’t an exhaustive list.
I am going to enjoy Gilbert and Sullivan, Pirates of Penzance, The Pirates Who Don’t do Anything, and of course Pirates of the Caribbean!
I have Pirate shoes too. Yes…shoes patent leather flats with skull and crossbones on the toe. They are awesome.
What do you love? What will you enjoy?
Any pirate fans out there? Disney, veggie, Gilbert and Sullivan, or whatever you enjoy. Chime in! I am looking forward to HBO’s new series Black Sails in January. “Vivre le Pirate”.
I’m going to have to indulge this weekend in the 1983 Pirates of Penzance with Linda Rondstadt, Kevin Klein, and Angela Lanbury…..it’s my favorite! I am the very model of the modern major general!
It’s been a whirlwind trip in NE Texas. Started in Dallas and made it through Sulphur Springs, then ended the day in Texarkana yesterday. Today I finished up Texarkana, made sales calls in Longview, Pittsburg, and I’m finishing today in Paris.
Driving out of Longview, I saw the Pilgrim Chicken HQ in Mount Pleasant, complete with a 2 story bust of the Pilgrim, and the Pilgrim Bank. I drove on through Deport….I should have taken a picture of the sign outside the Deport Elementary school stating they would have “early release” from all Deport schools on Friday. Maybe it was the substantial amount of windshield time today, but that struck me as pretty funny. It begs the question: If you are from Deport, where do they send you? What would they call that? Export?
In Paris, I had to take a drive to the Love Civic Center to see the Eiffel Tower, complete with a Red Cowboy hat. They are having an antique festival here this weekend. I kinda wish I could see that too!
Happy Wednesday, and Bon Soir y’all.
What a lovely week. Things are starting to gel on the new job. I met some of the nicest people. The flights were on time. My row companions were polite, and courteous. We might have a cool front tomorrow?
Focusing on the positive brings about more positive. Focusing on being nice, challenging myself to find good things has been very beneficial to my well being. I don’t know if you want to call it “law of attraction”, “the blessing”, or what.
I’m grateful for the good things that have happened. I’m going to thank Jesus, because it know he kept me this week.
Every day we have an opportunity to choose. Everyday we can look for good. What good things have happened to you this week? How did you celebrate them?
